TotalBoat Teak Cleaner is a two-part system that thoroughly cleans and restores the natural golden color and beautiful grain of your boat's teak deck and other teak surfaces. Part A removes sealers, graying, and weathering, and lifts dirt, stains, salt, and mildew. Part B neutralizes Part A and brightens the teak. Kit includes 1 Quart Part A and 1 Quart Part B.
Wet the teak surface to be cleaned. While the surface is wet, apply TotalBoat Teak Cleaner Part A to the teak, disperse the solution and scrub lightly across the grain with a soft-bristle brush or Scotch-Brite pad. The teak will darken with residue that is cleaned from the wood. Never scrub in the direction of the grain, as doing so will remove wood fiber. Rinse thoroughly with water and continue scrubbing lightly across the grain, removing most of the residue. Also, rinse clean any brush or pad used to scrub teak.
While still wet with fresh water, apply Part B, using the brush or pad to disperse and scrub lightly across the grain. The teak will lose the dark brown color and start to lighten. Rinse Part B off thoroughly with fresh water.
Allow teak to dry to a light, golden color, at least 48-72 hours. Do not attempt to seal, oil, or varnish during this period.
The cleaning process may raise the outer grains. If so, a light sanding will take the grains back down. If persistent stains remain after cleaning, perform cleaning process again.
Caution: Do not allow TotalBoat Teak Cleaner to come into contact with painted surfaces or aluminum surfaces. Mask around the area to be cleaned to prevent staining of surrounding areas.
If Part A gets onto fiberglass or gelcoat, neutralize with Part B to avoid damage or staining. Do not leave Part B on an caulking or seams for more than 5 minutes without neutralizing with Part B.

We had two pieces of teak that had never been refinished - one from 2006 (arm chair) and another from 2010 (leaf table). This could not have made refinishing them any easier. Applied as directed, and used a purple ScotchBrite brillo pad to remove the grime. Then I lightly sanded the wood with 220 paper. Applied 2 coats of the teak oil and we're back in business. Took a few days to achieve the final product, but all-in-all, these products just made it all possible to keep and recycle precious teak wood. Highly recommend.

Total boat Teak Cleaner has been my go to for 3 years now. I just had the opportunity to truly test it against the "other brand". We purchased a gallon on A & B from the brand I used for years, we were refinishing the teak furniture at a Hamptons Estate we maintain. My guys were used to the OB, so I figured why change. Have new Teak furniture that I sealed with Teak Sealer. It worked well but by the end of the summer was getting dark stained areas in some of the wood. I used this cleaner and it worked very well. Now have to re-seal the teak next spring. Wish there was a more permanent way to prevent stains but this works great in removing them and is very easy to use.

I used this to clean my dirty, mildewed and too gray teak boat deck. Part A turned the wood very dark, almost black and with a scotch brite pad removed the debris. Part B neutralized Part A and brightened the teak. Finished with Semco Natural sealer-used a foam brush (watch out for drips) and wiped with a clean rag. Beautiful!!

I tried this product on my neglected teak grating deck and some mahogany coaming. The teak came out okay, but the mahogany looked blotchy after using this product. I ended up going back and sanding everything anyway. If you teak is in fair shape, this is probably worth the money, but I would not use it on anything else.

I've tried a few other of these two-part cleaner/brighteners and none come close to the ease-of-use and fast results of Total Boat. Is not expensive, about the same cost of other brands, but the results are superior especially on teak. I also used this on some nearly-black mast hoops and with a bit of listed oil look almost new. The only downside is that it can make a mess of your deck if you aren't careful.
